Frequently Asked Questions¶
What is included with Daybreak?¶
Daybreak’s central philosophy is that the creation of relevant data should be purposeful and starts from the focus on the industry intelligent “atom” to rapidly serve up relevant data to power business intelligence, analytics and artificial intelligence applications.
-
Industry is the Intelligent Data Model
Aunalytics Daybreak comes pre-packaged with specific industry domain knowledge built into the atom-centric data model. Daybreak mines through the thousands of source fields to identify and extract only relevant information. This automated data model greatly reduces the cost of implementation and quickly propels organizations on their digital transformation journey. -
Automated Data Pipeline
Aunalytics daybreak’s automated data pipeline securely connects, extracts, and transforms daily on the defined scheduled cadence. The pipeline monitors for quality. -
SQL Builder
The SQL Builder empowers the end user to write ad-hoc SQL queries, giving a similar experience as any other database system. In addition, query tool learns from the user-interaction, and identifies the most relevant queries and makes them readily available. It also generates recommendations on what else the user might be interested in based on the questions asked of the data mart. -
Data Builder
The Data Builder tool gives a non-technical user the ability to ask questions of the data using a query wizard. These queries can be extracted and saved for analysis or other initiatives. -
BI Integration
Aunalytics Daybreak sits on an accelerated data store that seamlessly integrates with BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI to greatly improve the developer and end user experience. -
3rd Party Integrations
Aunalytics Daybreak has bi-directional integration into a number of 3rd party applications via Aunalytics connectors or custom integrations. Customized connectors are scoped and built on an as needed basis. Connectors include:- ODBC
- PostGres
- MSSQL
- Oracle
- Salesforce
- Symitar
- Encompass
- Redshift
-
Data Enrichment
Very few questions are answered from a single data point. Aunalytics Daybreak analyzes millions of structured and unstructured data points to featurize source data and augment new smart features into Daybreak that help answer key business objectives. Powered by AI these smart features turn into insights and recommendations that allow users to focus on business outcomes and not analysis. -
Scalable Compute Infrastructure
Aunalytics Daybreak is hosted and managed on the Aunalytics Cloud. The processes responsible for this work are implemented and managed using container-based computing technology with benefits including:- Elastic Scalability
- Scales to meet your growing data needs
- Dynamic Computing Environments
- Auto provisioning to meeting daily compute needs
- Fault Tolerant
- Redundant Infrastructure across multiple regions for uninterrupted service
- High Availability
- Speed
- Security
- PCI DSS Compliant
- FIPS 140-2 Encryption
- SSAE-16 Certified
How do you transfer data?¶
On Premise: Aunalytics supports several methods of secure data transmission during the initial phases of an engagement to facilitate fast acquisition of data. These methods allow you (our client) and the appropriate Aunalytics teams to begin working on downstream data processing workflows. These initial methods include a FIPS 140-2 compliant SFTP environment or physical encrypted external hard drives. During this initial period, the data acquisition team will also begin working with you to complete installation of a secure Data Gateway which will become the only supported means of data transfer (for internal sources) once installed. The data gateway is a FIPS 140-2 compliant encrypted data transmission device or VM which supports multiple ODBC compliant data sources. The data gateway is designed to be installed in the client computing environment for security reasons, giving the client complete control over the scheduling and transmission of all data.
In Cloud: Aunalytics has a number of API integrations built and will continue to build them based on need. Currently supported API’s include Salesforce, Encompass, Symitar, and Redshift.
Is the data encrypted?¶
All storage infrastructure provided is redundant, fault-tolerant, and encrypts data at rest to the FIPS 140-2 standard using validated cryptographic hardware designed to meet procurement requirements for the U.S. government and various industries, including healthcare and financial services, where these features are critical to compliance policies and procedures.
Where is our data hosted?¶
The Cloud Analytics Platform is compliant with PCI DSS (2.0) for physical security and infrastructure availability, and maintains appropriate compliance with HIPAA and HITECH standards. The data center where the Aunsight Platform “lives” is a Tier III secure data center, staffed 24x7x365 and is SSAE-16 certified. The fully redundant environment offers N+1 or 2N core systems.
How do we add a new data source?¶
New data sources can be added and set to a schedule using the Data Transmission guide. If fields from this source are part of our standard data model they will be integrated in and become party of your daily Daybreak feed. If they aren’t, the data can be pushed through for utilization by your team or scoped for integration into the Daybreak model.
What if we want to modify the data model?¶
The model is hosted and managed by Aunalytics. Our team is always looking to integrate new data elements and we are confident it holds all essential information for your teams. Customizations can be scoped and priced on an as needed basis.
Do you have single sign on (SSO)?¶
At this time we do not offer single sign on, however, this is in our roadmap and will be a feature made available to our clients.
What compliance certifications does Aunalytics have?¶
Our analytics platform is SOC 2 compliant and our data center is SOC 1 and SOC 2 compliant.
Will multiple users doing complex queries bog down the system?¶
We tune the resources available to our query service in support of the load our clients generate. If an unreasonable use experience exists at any time we work with the user to understand their needs and, when necessary, increase resources to accommodate.
What type of monitoring to you have for the data pipeline and delivery of reports/dashboards?¶
Our team of support engineers monitor multiple data points from ingestion to delivery of information to end points in order to ensure data is accurate and up to date.
